Free Pre-School Year in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE)

Fee Paying

ECCE is a scheme designed to give children access to a free pre-school year of appropriate activities in the year before they start primary school.

It is open to all children aged between 3 years 3 months and 4 years 6 months on 1st September each year.

Children who are eligible can attend play school for 3 hours per day, 5 days a week over 38 weeks.

The National Childcare Scheme supports families with children from 24 months who are attending Tusla registered settings.

There is a universal subsidy available to all families.

There is also an income means-tested subsidy which is available to families and will vary depending on the individual circumstances of each family.

As a community based play school, we try to keep fees to a minimum and charge a very competitive €10 per session.

Fees are charged when a child attends the play school in the year prior to their 'Free Pre-School Year (ECCE)'.
